3 Day Outlander

Service Description

DAY ONE Let us transport you back in time to the start to Claire's intrepid journey, Clava Cairns. Then onto Culloden where we will make this emotional piece of history come alive. The afternoon sees a visit to Castle Leod (Castle Leoch) then on to Rogie Falls to admire this beautiful area. We then wander into Beauly, a pretty village mentioned several times in the books. To finish, afternoon tea or perhaps a wee taste of something stronger at a local Distillery. DAY TWO The west Highlands with its picture post card scenery is an area that never disappoints. On this tour we visit the infamous Loch Ness (where Claire saw the Water Horse), travel over Mam Ratagan Pass, a stunning drive which drops down into the village of Glen Elg, then onwards to the Isle of Skye, before returning to Inverness via the impressive Skye bridge. DAY THREE After overnighting in Inverness we travel to Edinburgh for a day of film locations and history. We visit the Highland Folk Museum before travelling to Falkland (Inverness 1940), Culross (Crainsmuir), and on to the pretty victorian town of Pitlochry where we stop for lunch. Our day ends with a drive down the Royal mile to point out a host of Outlander references. If you'd like to pay a deposit of £250 to secure a guide then please email admin@invernesscustomtours.com.
