Doug is our Inverness city walking tour guide and hails from the lush Ross-Shire forests and is happiest atop a mountain. He has lived in various places across Scotland (even venturing as far as England at one point) but has long-since resettled back in the Highlands with no desire to leave!

A successful chef in a previous life, Doug is now an archaeologist. He obtained a BA in History and an MLitt in Archaeology from the University of the Highlands and Islands. He has been involved with many local projects and excavations, as well as leading the Inverness Young Archaeologist Club, where he teaches children about their heritage.

Not content with the (literal) bare bones of archaeology, Doug is a keen folklorist and is fond of the many myths and legends of the Highlands. Well, who doesn't love a good ghost story on a wild, windy evening! Doug can tailor your walking tour depending on your interests (history, spooky etc) and also the duration. Tours can range between 1 -3 hours.

Upon request, we could also help organise a whisky tasting at one of our favorite bars or end the tour with some award-winning Gelato!
