North Skye

Skye - North
11 hr

Skye is one of Scotlands most iconic destinations. Our 11hr tour starts from your Inverness pick up point or your Inverness accommodation. Choosing to explore the north of the island enables you to explore all of the must-see sights on Skye. En route to the island is some of Scotland's most dramatic scenery including the renowned Five Sisters of Kintail. We arrive at one of Scotland's most photographed castles; Eilean Donan Castle where time is provided for a visit. We cross the Skye Bridge providing opportunities for a picnic lunch en route or in the picturesque town of Portree. After Portree we skirt some cliff scenery, seeing the Old Man of Storr and Kilt Rock. Then we can choose from the fabulous mountain road over the Quiraing with its stunning views. Alternatively, we can travel around the very tip of Skye where Flora MacDonald is buried. Near Flora MacDonald's grave, you can (depending on the time of year) visit the Museum of Island Life housed in a crofting community of blackhouses. The scenery changes again and, if time, a trip will be made into the Fairy Glen which carries some interesting geological features from the last ice age. Finally, we take a relaxing and beautiful trip back to your accommodation in Inverness.

Our Skye Day Tour  for up to 11 hours is £680

NB: Price is for guide and vehicle only. Admissions and food are not included.

We cut across the island from east to west before arriving for a tasting at the famous Talisker Malt Whisky Distillery. Here you are guided around the distillery by the staff and finish with a dram of the amber nectar. After the distillery we drive back down the island, viewing the jagged Cuillin Hills which can sometimes be spectacular. Alternatively, if whisky is not your thing, we can take the winding Glen Brittal road towards the Fairy Pools. The Fairy Pools are a natural waterfall phenomenon in Glen Brittle, on the Allt Coir' a' Mhadaidh river. The vivid blues and greens of the pools suggest an unnatural origin, hence their name. A wonderful place to spend the afternoon walking and making memories.
